Laser spectrum:A spectrum is a condition that is not limited to a specific set of values but can vary infinitely within a continuum. It has since been applied by analogy to topics outside of optics. The linewidth a laser, typically a single-frequency laser, is the width of its optical spectrum. A finite linewidth arises from phase noise if the phase undergoes unbounded drifts, as is the case for free-running oscillators. Drifts of the resonator length can further contribute to the linewidth and can make it dependent on the measurement time.
