Data Communication Medium: Understanding the Foundation of Modern Information Exchange

Steven Franconeri*

In today's interconnected world, where information flows rapidly and seamlessly, data communication mediums serve as the backbone of our digital society. From sending emails to streaming videos and conducting online transactions, data communication mediums enable the transfer of vast amounts of data across various networks. This article delves into the intricacies of data communication mediums, exploring their types, characteristics and importance in modern-day communication. Data communication mediums are the physical or virtual channels that facilitate the transmission of information between devices or systems. They provide a means to transport data, allowing communication and collaboration between individuals, organizations and machines. These mediums can be categorized into two broad categories: guided and unguided.

Wireless Body Sensor Networks

Rucheng Liu*

Wireless Body Sensor Networks (WBSNs) are a type of wireless network that allows medical professionals to monitor the vital signs of patients in real-time. WBSNs consist of small, wireless sensors that can be attached to a patient's body to continuously monitor their vital signs. The sensors are typically equipped with sensors for measuring various physiological parameters, such as heart rate, blood pressure, body temperature and respiratory rate. WBSNs have been gaining popularity in recent years due to their ability to provide continuous, non-invasive monitoring of patients, which can lead to better diagnosis, treatment and improved patient outcomes.

Zero Energy IoT Devices for RF Energy Harvesting in 6G (Terahertz) Communication

Hassan Zeb1*, A. Ghani1 and M. Gohar2

In harvesting RF energy from the ambient source, Radio Frequency (RF) plays an important role for zero energy IoT devices. Current research focused on 4G/5G technologies, however, after the concept of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Virtual and Augmented Reality (VAR), Three-Dimensional (3D) media, Internet of Everything (IoE), multi-way virtual meeting with holographic projection, brain communication interface, remote surgery and digitalize the whole word, 6G has got a great attention of the researchers because of latency, reliability and data rate requirements of 4G/5G systems. Several technologies companies such as Ericson and MIT started to work on 6G zero energy devices. Energy harvesting is an open research challenge in 6G technology due to latency, reliability and data rate requirements in 4G/5G technology. In this paper, we have conducted a real-world experiment on Power cast energy harvesting zero energy devices and examined the behaviour of sensed data in different scenarios, such as indoor/outdoor, distance (feet/ meters), and directions. In addition, an overview of different electricity generated methods is presented to better understand the energy and energy harvesting techniques. Furthermore, we have obtained results for these scenarios and show that this technology has a promising future in 6G.

Monitoring the Natural Vegetation of Boracay through Land-Based Segmentation Using Satellite Images

J R M Gomez*, E Jr B Leron, A B Ikutanim, P J E Abagon, E O Felix, M G C Ferrarin and J L Gonzales

This study focuses in building a script that will analyze the condition of natural vegetation in boracay using satellite images through artificial neural network. The designed program is created to help user assess and preserve the area without consuming so much time. The levels of condition were determined as vegetation, Infrastructure, and Water. The researcher constructed the artificial neural network by the help of MATLAB application. With the use of the images gathered from satellite images, the researchers were able to produce result of vegetation, Infrastructure, and water in percentage form.
