However, their role as hazardous micropollutants raises significant concerns about environmental and health impacts. This article investigates whether cosmetic preservatives qualify as hazardous micropollutants and examines the need for enhanced scrutiny and regulation. By evaluating current research, reviewing the environmental and health effects of common preservatives and discussing implications for policy and practice, this paper aims to shed light on the necessity for more rigorous investigation and regulation in the cosmetic industry.
